Cataloochee Ski Area is the premier ski and snow tubing destination in Maggie Valley, North Carolina. Visitors to Asheville, the Smoky Mountains, and Maggie Valley plan their trips specifically to hit the slopes at Cataloochee.
Cataloochee Ski Area
Cataloochee Ski Area is home to 18 different ski trails. Opening up every season in November and running through March, Cataloochee receives multiple feet of snow each season and makes snow regularly to keep skiers and snowboarders on the slopes all season.

Holiday rates apply for the following dates: Thursday, Nov. 28 through Sunday, December 1 as well as Monday, December 16, 2019 through Wednesday, January 1, 2020; Friday, January 17 through Monday, January 20, 2020 and Friday, February 14 through Monday, February 17, 2020.
Twilight and Night Skiing
Twilight and night skiing are available every day from December 16 except for Christmas Eve. We will also twilight and night ski on Wednesday, Nov. 27, and Friday & Saturday, Nov. 29 & 30. Open Thanksgiving Day from 8:30am – 4:30pm. Open Christmas Day from 1:00pm – 10:00pm.
IMPORTANT
Your lift ticket is non-refundable and non-transferable. The Ski Area does not assume any responsibility for lost lift passes. No replacements. All guests must have a valid lift ticket and ski or snowboard equipment at all times to enter any slope system. There is no grace period at Cataloochee Ski Area. All prices and policies subject to change without notice. No general public on lift without skis or snowboard. Management reserves the right to revoke ticket at any time.
Though we take every precaution when doing daily maintenance to lifts and conveyors to keep spillage to a minimum, there will be occasions in which grease or light debris will drop from the lifts. Please know this is a risk that is inherent to the sport and Cataloochee is not responsible for stains or grease on garments or ski or snowboard equipment.

Tube World at Cataloochee Ski Area
Tube World is located just 4 hours away in the town of Maggie Valley, across from Ghost Town in the Sky, is the home of great snow tubing fun each winter! The groomed slope is made for riding specially designed inner tubes. You’ll ride the moving carpet lift to the top of the hill, then tube your way down the snow-covered run.
The cost for tubing is $30 per person, per session, Monday through Friday, non-holidays and $35 per person, per session on Weekends or Holidays. Holiday dates are listed below.

- December 21, 2019 through Wednesday, January 1, 2020
- Friday, January 17 through Monday, January 20, 2020
- Friday, February 14 through Monday, February 17, 2020
- Any weekend or holiday.
Sessions are one hour and 45 minutes long and run every two hours. There is a 42″ minimum height requirement. Only Tube World equipment may be used. No two person tubing allowed.
