The cabin was very spacious, with gorgeous decks and views. We especially enjoyed the outdoor fireplace on chilly evenings. This gated community was the most beautiful we've ever stayed at. The decor was not the best part, with the "bear" theme way overdone...sort of a massive collection of garage sale bears. But overall, excellent choice.

Family reunion of 3 couples loved the 3 level Smoky Mountains cabin with large bedrooms with own en-suites. Kitchen had new stainless steel appliances, 2 fridge, one in the garage, we cooked for 6 people for 7 days. Had everything we needed. Weber grill, and fire for s’mores. Comfortable beds, fires at night, watching the sunsets, Porch sitting absorbing the views and fresh air. We loved the Dancing Bear!!!

We had a wonderful week with family and friends at Dancing Bear vacation rental in the gated Smoky Mountain Retreat Community. The rooms were spacious and accommodating, very clean and comfortable, and full of welcoming amenities. The rental included everything a family would need for a satisfying stay. From kitchen amenities to board games and outside amenities like hot tub, fire place, bbq grill to multiple level decks with a variety and plentiful amount of outdoor furniture including rocking chairs, we couldn’t have wanted anything more! In addition, the place was spotless inside and out. The location of the property was higher up on the mountain than prior rentals so we had to get used to driving the switchbacks since we are from very flat Florida. The views from the outside decks were amazing! All of the processes from booking to check-in and checkout went smoothly, and Jessica responded quickly to a couple of questions we had. She was a pleasure to deal with! We would highly recommend this pet friendly vacation rental.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dancing Bear in Smoky Mountain Retreat. The house was immaculate upon arrival and has a lovely setting. The bedrooms and kitchen were just perfect. The views were spectacular and the outdoor fireplace led to hours of conversations. What a relaxing, pleasant experience!
We enjoyed dining at Boojum's and Beach Mountain in Waynesville. We also took a midnight hike up Black Balsam to get a 360-degree view of the stars. Unforgettable!

Invited our children to spend a week with us in the mountains of NC. Three granddaughters from 1-3 were with us. The three stories made it comfortable for all. The house was very clean. It was probably the best-stocked rental I have ever used. The views from the porch and windows were amazing. We built a fire on the outside patio and made s'mores. Adults enjoyed the hot tub. I don't think we could have found a better place. We would definitely recommend the Dancing Bear to anyone and I hope we can return in the future.

Two couples spent 5 nights at Dancing Bear, and the accommodations couldn't have been more lovely. With each of the three bedroom suites situated on a different level, it was easy to maintain privacy in a spacious home that offers plenty of gathering room, both inside and out. The view was magnificent, and the cabin was within a few minutes' drive to the center of Maggie Valley.

By far, the nicest cabin we have ever rented. More room than we really needed, but everything was top notch. I came away with some really great photos, and memories. It's quite a climb to reach the cabin. All roads are paved, but steep.

Very nice house and well furnished overall. It would be a great location in the fall and late springtime. It is unfortunate that the inside fireplace is ornamental only and not functional. We were not pleased with the limitations with the selections on the TV, since one member of the party was confined to the house most of the time that we rented it and watched the limited free TV.

We enjoyed our stay at Dancing Bear Lodge. The location is convenient to downtown Maggie Valley and minutes from Waynesville, the Blue Ridge Parkway and Smokey Mountain National Park. The cabin was clean and looks better than advertised. The view overlooking Maggie Valley was great during the day and even better at night. I called the office to get a high chair and safety gates when our daughter and granddaughter joined us at the cabin. The host was extremely helpful and we had both items before my daughter and granddaughter arrived. I have rented cabins in this area for over 20 years, this cabin is definitely one of the nicest we have stayed in and we are looking forward to a return trip in the spring. Thanks for letting my family enjoy your wonderful property.

This cabin was very charming! The outdoor fireplace, hot tub, and views were great. It was a good match for our large family of multi age kids (1yr-24). Beware that if it snows, the roads are far up and curvy (a major challenge in some cars, but a company did come and salt and plow, so you won’t be stuck long). Also, if you have babies who cry through the night, not a great sound barrier between the rooms. But very clean! Great ambience! Helpful staff!!

We chose this property solely on the pics of the outdoor space. It was 100 times better than the pictures. We spent 4 nights there and spent about 8 hours a day outside enjoying the view of the mountains and burned a 1/4 cord of wood in the beautiful fireplace. Highly recommend! PS the inside was equally amazing.

WE stayed here for over 3 months this summer and enjoyed every day. There are only two of us so we did not come close to using the home's potential. Everything worked and the Sat TV and high speed internet just kept purring along. The views from the porches are excellent The staff at Smoky Mountain Retreat were terrific. We couldn't have asked for a better place or better management. The location is just perfect...Waynesville is right next door, Ashville is a 40 minute drive, Gatlinburg is an hour away and you are surrounded by beautiful mountains. If you are looking for a place to stay for a week, a month or a summer you have found it.

Very nice. Check-in was easy and the folks we nice and we were in and out quickly. The home was clean and even nicer than I expected (compared to our past rental homes in the OBX). It was stocked better than our past rentals in the OBX and had almost everything we needed to cook and live. Like I said on my comments in the package, it felt like I was staying in a friend's home, not a rental. Some rentals just have junky basics and multiple sets of worthless things like pot covers that don't fit, can openers that don't work well, chipped plates and mis-matched glasses. This was great and really helped our family feel welcome. Child-proof gates for the stairs, iron and ironing board, even wood for the fire!!!! Wow! Thank you so much. All together it made for a wonderful experience that we will definitely try to repeat in the future and recommend to anyone who asks. thanks again.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Dancing Bear. The cabin is comfortable, well maintained, and adequately stocked. The views are breathtaking, and its central location allowed us to take short day trips into Asheville, Waynesville, and Sevierville. It should be noted that the third bedroom has access to the porch and hot tub. As our youngest children were perfectly content with the loft set-up, this really wasn't an issue for us. Our teenagers stayed downstairs, so the freedom for them to easily come and go without disturbing the whole house was appreciated. Additionally, I wanted to mention that the road is very steep and windy. There are six switchbacks to navigate. I advise planning to arrive before dark. Our first trip up was after dark in dense fog. It was a knuckle-clincher, but the view the next morning was worth it. We've stayed in several vacation rentals, and this was definitely one of the best. We can't wait to return!

Great, relaxing cabin with all the amenities. Lots of room, well laid out, the pictures don't do it justice. 10 mins to downtown Waynesville & approx 40 mins to Asheville. Steep climb to get to house and up the drive - might be tricky in the snow, but also made for a private setting. Have rented many cabins in the NC / North GA area, and would definitely rent Dancing Bear again.
