Rawky Ridge
Rawky Ridge Retreat is a 4 bedroom/3.5 baths log cabin that sleeps 15 guests.
Our mountain getaway is located in the exclusive log home community known as Smoky Mountain Retreat. The community is private, gated and the roads are fully paved. You will be provided a gate code for accessing the two gated entrances - one leading to Maggie Valley and the other to Waynesville, where you’ll find lots of shops, restaurants and breweries.
Our cabin features a two-car garage, two gas fireplaces, Wi-Fi, a cascading waterfall on the property, fire-pit, wrap around deck with trek decking and a gas grill, a beautifully furnished interior, including a Rec room with pool table and board games. Also, a new hot tub on the lower deck!
Our cabin is a short 45-minute drive from the airport and attractions in Asheville!

Main level: Living Room, Gas Fireplace, Dining Room and Kitchen featuring granite counters, a gas Wolf cooktop and stainless-steel appliances. Master bedroom with king bed 40" TV and en-suite bathroom. Also on the main floor is a half bath, laundry & access to garage and upper deck.
Upper level: The first bedroom features two queen beds with a window seat and the second bedroom features a queen and a full bed also with a window seat. Both bedrooms include a large closet. The bedrooms share a full bathroom with shower and jetted tub. A pack and play crib is also available for your littlest travelers!
Lower level: The lower level includes an entertainment living area with a gas fireplace and TV, a game area with pool table and board games. The lower-level bedroom features two sets of bunk beds, twin over twin and twin over full and an en-suite bathroom with walk in shower. Access to covered deck, hot tub and front yard fire-pit from the lower level.
No Pets allowed.

Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years: $2,625 (7 Night Minimum)

We were so pleased with Bears Lair. It’s decorated beautifully, with special touches thru-out. Kitchen is well equipped, beds were comfortable and the cabin is very clean! Nothing to complain about here, far exceeded our expectations. Smoky mountain retreat rentals is. very friendly and accommodating. It was a great vacation!

Our adventure began the moment we drove up the driveway to our home away from home. As we explored our mountain top lodging we found that every little detail from the beautiful interior, to the perfectly stocked kitchen, bathrooms and comfy bedrooms, left us nothing to do but relax. The beautiful deck, with its breathtaking views was our favorite spot to begin our day for morning coffee and our spot to unwind from a busy day over evening night caps. We left for home feeling relaxed and pampered and would recommend The Bears Lair to all!

I've been renting properties in WNC for over 30 years. This location by far is the best we've been in. Very clean, well appointed with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. Plenty of indoor & outdoor space to accommodate our party of 7. Grandkids loved playing pool after a day of running around the mountains. Would highly recommend to any family.

From the moment we all stepped into the cabin we felt a warm cozy feeling. A spacious and immaculately clean. Wonderful touches like a s’mores station and honey gift snd a kitchen full of great appliances. The fire pitt was a great gathering place. The bedrooms are very comfortable and decorated beautifully, a five star experience.

This was a true log cabin experience with each floor and bedrooms named to coincide with the Bear Lairs name. Open beam ceilings. Gas fireplace I loved that the kitchen was well equipped. A wood fireplace, sofa, recliner, bedroom, and full bathroom made for a cozy setting. Majestic views from every window. I also loved the double decks. The open view of the living room from the third floor. I have high recommendations for Bears Lair.

We had a great time at Bears Lair during our week in Western NC. The location is minutes from Waynesville and a convenient 30 minutes to Asheville. The cabin was everything you could want in a modern mountain cabin; a bit rustic with all the amenities you need. We had cold temps and enjoyed several nights of family time by the fire pit and also the fireplace. The cabin was clean and well-stocked and the beds very comfortable. We already miss morning coffee in a rocking chair looking out at Maggie Valley. We can’t wait to come back.
